Abdullah Abbar & Sons Cold Stores is planning to build a new logistics plant for food products at King Abdullah Economic City's (KAEC) Industrial Valley-phase 3
An agreement to this effect was signed between the two parties.
The contract will require the construction of a distribution and logistics centre as well as packaging operations and 3PL Services. It is expected to be spread over 102,702m2 of land parcel, reports Saudi Gazette.
The investment in KAEC will allow Abdullah Abbar to expand its service reach in the food as well as logistics market.
KAEC Industrial Valley CEO Rayan Qutub was quoted by Saudi Gazette as saying: "Saudi Arabia accounts 60% of the food consumption and 75% of food processing in the Gulf region, and therefore we have developed the Industrial Valley as the new value-added logistics and manufacturing hub with all the advantages of an unrivalled strategic location.
"Abdullah Abbar and Sons Cold Stores will be an important addition to the cluster of food companies operating in the Industrial Valley, where the operational benefits include the modern and fully integrated infrastructure and many other unique advantages that enable investors to develop and diversify their local, regional and global business operations."
