Galant Food, an establishment based in San Leandro, California, is recalling , as it was formulated with an egg wash glaze that contains egg, an allergen which is not mentioned on the label.
The product being recalled is 4oz 'Chicken Provance French Puff', featuring establishment number 'EST. 9014' inside the USDA mark of inspection and identifying case codes 7193, 9053 and 9093.
The implicated products were produced on 19 July, 5 September and 9 September 2013 and shipped to restaurants and cafes in the San Francisco Bay area.
The problem was identified during a food safety assessment at the establishment and occurred due to difficulties with label printing equipment at the company's new location.
FSIS and Galant Food have received no reports of illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Classified as a class I, the recall indicates a hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.
