A French Court ordered Peugeot Citroen to suspend proceeds of recombination a few days ago. Peugeot Citroen said that they will still cut 8,000 jobs by negotiating with labor union, but maybe delay the proceeds.
January 28, Paris Appeal Court ordered Peugeot Citroen to suspend recombination till they finish the negotiation with workers of subsidiary Faurecia’s two factories, and then they can continue the recombination. In July last year, Peugeot Citroen announced they will close the French Aulney factory in the future and will totally cut 8,000 jobs in France. The Court’s order this time may delay the proceeds of cutting down the employees’ number.
However, a spokesman of Peugeot Citroen said: “The negotiation of cutting jobs doesn’t stop and will continue.” The Court rejected CGT labor union’s demand that Peugeot Citroen should stop the plan of recombination and cutting jobs, which should negotiate according to law before execution.
This spokesman also revealed that Peugeot Citroen will negotiate with labor union in February 5 and 12, but still don't give the new time framework of finished cutting jobs.
