A few days ago, Baosteel--Tianwei Baobian joint laboratory was established, which is a cooperation model created by Baosteel and Tianwei Baobian in integrated industrial chain on the basis of performance research of oriented silicon steel material and key technologies of transformer design and manufacture, which is also a practical exploration of Baosteel to promote the industrial upgrading through keeping a firm grasp on the new products and new technologies. Mr. Dai Zhihao —— general manager of Baosteel, and Mr. Bian Haiqing —— deputy chairmen and general manager of Baoding Tianwei Group, inaugurated the joint laboratory together; Meanwhile, Mr. Wang Jing —— deputy general manager of Baosteel, and main leaders from Sheet Sales Dep. & Silicon Steel Dep. of Baosteel, Beijing Baosteel, Baoding Tianwei Group, Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co., Ltd. and other companies attended the opening ceremony together.
Since 2008, with the completion and entering into production of Baosteel oriented silicon steel production line, with the constant promotion of manufacturing capacity and R&D capability, Baoding Tianwei has enhanced the cooperation with Baosteel in localization of oriented silicon steel used for large-scale power transformer. Purchase quantity is rising steadily while Baosteel and Baoding Tianwei developed a good cooperation in many priority projects, including Three Gorges Corporation, State Grid Corporation of China and China Southern Power Grid; Meanwhile, the two companies also started to strive to make technological breakthrough and develop cooperation regarding the features of DC magnetic bias and overexcitation of the transformer. Besides, Baosteel continuously strengthens the cooperation of upstream and downstream with Baoding Tianwei through constant advancing of improvement of delivery cycle, dual-representative system of technical representative and customer representative, technical research of the customer's use, etc. so as to promote competitiveness in the industrial chain together.
After establishment of the joint laboratory, Baosteel and Tianwei Baobian will set up projects to study the issues of common interest by centering on the cultivation of multidisciplinary inter-disciplinary talents and focusing on the research of lean control of industrial chain and development of new products and new technologies. At the same time, they will form a "proposal for joint research project" in project management way, and conduct assessment, inspection and rolling propulsion for the project at regular intervals.
Before the opening ceremony, leaders of both companies proceeded an informal discussion and indepth exchange concerning on how to further strengthen strategic cooperation.
