CIVCOM Has Announced The Production Release of Its High-Power tunable XFP

Civcom Devices & Systems Ltd of Petach Tikva, Israel (a subsidiary of optical transmission system maker Padtec S/A of Campinas–Sao Paulo, Brazil that makes 1-100Gb/s widely tunable optical transponders and transceivers) has announced the production release of its high-power, extended-bandwidth tunable XFP (10G T-XFP), which delivers enhanced features in a small, pluggable, MSA-footprint transceiver.

Key product features include: extended C-band (101 ch.); up to 3dBm output power (high-power); configurable output power; dithering support (SBS); minimum 35dB SMSR; APD or PIN module options; and reliability and short lead-time.

“We have moved on to the next platform after last year’s preliminary launch of the T-XFP standard version,” says Civcom’s CEO Gabby Shpirer. “Based on extensive market examination, we added strong features that are in high demand, especially in ROADM/DWDM networks.”

Civcom began sampling the T-XFP with customers in mid-2012 and began selling the product in large volume by the beginning of 2013.

Civcom is exhibiting in booth 2908 at the Optical Fiber Communication/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (OFC/NFOEC 2013) in Anaheim (19-21 March).
