Toyota Aims to Build an Environmentally-Sustainable Campus

Toyota has broken ground at its new North American headquarters to be built at the intersection of Headquarters Drive and Palomino Crossing in Plano, Texas.

Toyota Motor North America CEO Jim Lentz said that the company aims to build an environmentally-sustainable campus which will be welcomed by those residing in nearby areas.

The company announced to relocate the headquarter in April 2014 which was followed by purchasing of property, hiring of a developer and project manager and filing of a preliminary site plan with the City of Plano.

Presently, Toyota is working on the design process and the construction activities are scheduled to begin in the coming weeks.

Toyota Financial Services CEO Mike Groff said: "Breaking ground in Plano is an exciting and tangible demonstration of the great progress we are making in bringing our major North American business affiliates and leaders together in one location for the first time.

"As we create this best place to work for our people, we will strengthen our ability to put customers first and make a meaningful difference in the communities we are privileged to serve."

The construction of the headquarters is expected to be completed by late 2016 or by early 2017.
