Illinois-based insurance brokerage Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (AJG) has completed the purchase of VEBA Service Group, a Spokane-based health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) consulting firm.
As part of the acquisition, VEBA general manager Mark Wilkerson and team will continue operations from their existing locations of Spokane, Sumner, Kennewick and Vancouver under the leadership of AJG employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations western region executive vice president Norbert Chung.
Arthur chairman, president and CEO Patrick Gallagher said VSG is highly regarded within the health reimbursement community for their depth of knowledge and objective advice and is also known for their high degree of quality service.
"Their specialized expertise in HRAs will add new capabilities to our employee benefits brokerage and consulting operation," Gallagher added.
Founded in 1984, VSG assists in the design and implementation of tax-advantaged health care reimbursement plans, which provide prefunding of current and post-retirement out-of-pocket health care costs for their clients' employees.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has operations in 17 countries and offers client-service capabilities in more than 110 nations worldwide.
