German car maker BMW has unveiled the convertible version of its flagship BMW 2 Series range.
According to BMW, the BMW 2 series range has the driving dynamics, efficiency, comfort, functionality and intelligent networking similar to the BMW 1 Series Convertible.
The car has flat silhouette with pronounced swage line, stretched lines, and sculpted rear wheel arches.
When compared to BMW 1 Series Convertible, the new vehicle is 26mm to 1,774 mm wider; the wheel base has been increased by 30 to 2,690mm, luggage compartment volume has been increased by 30l to 335l and it has 35mm-wider rear hatch.
The overall length has also been increased by 72 mm to 4,432mm.
BMW has equipped the car with new electrically powered fabric top which is capable of opening and closing in 20 seconds even at 50 km/h (30 mph) speed.
The interior has been given a "boat deck" look with improved shoulderline and soft-top compartment.
Average fuel consumption of the BMW 2 Series Convertible is 8.5-4.2 l/100 km and average CO2 emissions is 199-111 g/km.
The 228i Convertible and 220i Convertible are powered by four-cylinder petrol engines with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and the 220d Convertible is powered by four-cylinder diesel engine.
BMW is also offering eight-speed Steptronic transmission as an option to the new line of vehicles.
