Green Grass Foods has received Non-GMO Project Verification for its first product, nutpods, a dairy-free creamer made from almonds and coconuts.
The new clean-label dairy-free creamer, which is expected to launch in late spring this year, has already secured Vegan, Gluten-free, and OU Kosher certifications. It is also said to be unsweetened and will enable consumers to choose their own sweetness level.
Founded in November 2013, Green Grass Foods' nutpods will address the growing demand for milk alternatives, the company stated.
Green Grass Foods founder Madeline Haydon said: "I kept looking for the perfect rich and creamy dairy-free coffee creamer at the grocery store and never found it.
"After waiting 3 years, I decided to explore the idea of launching my own brand."
The Non-GMO Project offers verification for products made according to rigorous best practices for GMO avoidance. It carries out testing of all GMO risk ingredients, facility inspections and an annual audit to ensure the highest possible standards for GMO avoidance.
