The Solar Subsidiary of Delta Electronics,Debuted on TSE with IPO of NT$14.7 on May 9,2012

DelSolar debuts on TSE Patty Wang,Taipei;Jackie Chang,DIGITIMES[Thursday 10 May 2012]DelSolar,the solar subsidiary of Delta Electronics,debuted on Taiwan Stock Exchange(TSE)with IPO of NT$14.7(US$0.50)on May 9,2012.

Despite the continuous low price of solar cells,DelSolar remains positive on the future of the market.The firm noted that demand for renewable energy sources is increasing as various countries have been raising awareness of the risks in using nuclear power plants.

DelSolar indicated 2012 capex to be used for optimization of equipment and process.The firm has been striving to lower operation costs to increase competitiveness.

DelSolar mainly produces solar cells and has been able to increase efficiency of mono-crystalline solar cells to 19.1%.DelSolar's current capacity of 600MW for solar cells and 180MW for solar modules.

In addition to silicon-based solar products,DelSolar has been cooperating with IBM on R&D of second-generation thin-film solar cells such as copper zinc tin sulfide(CZTS).
