Just east of the Temple of Heaven, the Beijing Articraft Workshop is a meeting point for traditional Beijing craft artisans. Imperial arts like Beijing embroidery and folk arts like Chinese paper-cuttings are taught at the workshop.
Ji Shundong was among the first craftspeople at the Workshop. He is now an inheritor to the intangible cultural heritage 'calabash drawing' (scorching gourds in order to draw pictures on them).
