Steven Vasoo, a horticultural professional and columnist from Canada, and his party visited the Luoyang Shenzhou Peony Garden on April 21st. Fascinated by the swathes of peonies, Vasso said that although he had been to Europe, America, Africa, and other places across the world, he had never come across such a splendid scene of peonies.
During this visit, Vasoo exchanged ideas with professionals from the Suzhou Gardening Administration Bureau, the Luoyang Shenzhou Peony Garden and the Summer Palace. He shared his ideas about promoting the peony culture festival, and on issues like extending peony florescence through hybridization. He said that peonies in Luoyang were richer in color and variety than those imported from Japan to Canada, remarking that these peonies had got great market potential in the North America.
Vasoo wished to introduce Luoyang peonies to Vancouver, Canada. In fact, Luoyang peonies have already made their way into the U.S., with a peony garden having been built there.
