Walter Just, the founder of the Trodat stamp brand, has passed away at the age of 91.
Austrian-born Just joined the family firm Franz Just – founded by his father in 1912 – after the Second World War and registered the Trodat trademark in 1960.
The products proved so successful under Just's leadership that the company changed its name to Trodat in 1968.
Just led the international expansion of the group until the mid-1980s, transforming Trodat into a global player with around 1000 employees.
Just established the Trodat Signs of Life museum and was a key figure in the creation of the Richard Wagner music festival.
In 1990, he was awarded the title of 'Paul Harris Fellow' by Rotary International.
