FIFA Ethics Panel Found No Violations of The Relevant Regulations During Process

Global soccer’s governing body, apparently satisfied with the investigative findings of an Ethics Committee that found no “violations or breaches of the relevant rules and regulations” were made during the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, says it is ready for preparations for those matches to be played in Russia (2018) and Qatar (2022) to continue.

FIFA will not make the panel's report public, but acknowledged recommendations in it that the bidding process for future FIFA World Cups should be improved. Already, FIFA is considering potential amendments before the 2026 World Cup bidding process begins. UK press reports suggested the governing body had accepted millions in bribes to secure the global sporting event for Qatar.
