London Plans to Host Its First Bicycle Tour of Its Cultural and Architectural History

London is set to host its first bicycle tour of the city's cultural and architectural history.

The Velonotte event will take place on the night of 23 June 2012 to mark the start of the London Festival of Architecture and is sponsored by lighting manufacturer iGuzzini.

The moonlit tour will take participants from the Victoria monument to East London,with a variety of stops along the way.The route also includes a visit to the recently completed Olympic Village.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit some of London's landmarks while discussing the city's architecture,urban policy and cultural life.Acclaimed architects and cultural historians,including Peter Ackroyd,Ricky Burdett,David Adjaye and Peter Murray,will narrate the tour.

The Velonotte bike events have been staged in various cities around the world,including Rome,New York and Moscow.
