The fall months bring many new changes,the turning of leaves,an introduction to 3 intense months of holidays,harvest time and the occasional harvest moon.And although folk lore and celebrations have occured for what seems like an endless period of time,fall celebration's are constantly reinventing the way one can honor the many attributes of fall.At a recent festival in Hong Kong,the Golden Moon made its presence,and worked its enchanting magic to illuminate the Mid-Autumn Festival in Victoria Park.

The Golden Moon installation revisits the concept of the traditional Chinese lantern while illuminating the senses with legends of the Moon Goddess Chang.The Moon Goddess lore states that this strong goddess figure is summoned to help the earth from misfortunes beset upon it,only meet her husband Houyi on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival,when the moon is at its fullest.

The Golden Moon symbolizes the Mood Goddess and her husband's passionate love burning between them.Featuring 6-stories of love and flames this spherical moon lantern displays abstracted flames in fiery colors and patterns.Built in only 11 days with an expected life span of only 6 days,the Golden Moon's sparkling combination of state-of-the-art digital design technology and hand craftsmanship triggered a sensuous response from its nearly 500,000 visitors.
