Reportedly, the Mexican steelmaker Altos Hornos de México (Ahmsa) posted a net loss of US$40.3 million for the third quarter of this year, in comparison of a net loss of US$26.6 million in the same quarter of 2012. In the third quarter of this year, the company's Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) totaled US$38.2 million. Meanwhile, its sales revenues totaled US$735.2 million in the given period of time, falling by 2.1% year on year. Besides, AHMSA's shipments of steel products totaled 886,524 tons in the third quarter of this year.
