It’s reported that Taiwan’s export prices of small-diameter wire rods with diameter less than 14mm hit the two-year low in this January.

In January, the export prices of small-diameter wire rods averaged at NT$21,425/ton, falling by NT$312/ton from a month ago. Also, the export prices have fallen for consecutive five months.

Meanwhile, Taiwan’s imports small-diameter wire rods totaled 23,124 tons, falling by 24% from a month ago.

However, industry sources predicted that Taiwan’s export prices of small-diameter wire rods may rebound in the near future, driven by stable steel prices in global market and China Steel Corp. (CSC)’s price rise.
