In The Jan-Feb Period of This Year Ukraine's Ferroalloy Production Decreased by 24 Percent

According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA), in the January-February period of this year Ukraine's ferroalloy production decreased by 24 percent compared to the same period last year to 113,500 mt.

Accordingly, in the given period Ukraine's silicomanganese output decreased by 8.6 percent to 93,600 mt, its ferromanganese production went down by 36.4 percent to 6,300 mt, while its ferrosilicon output decreased by 72.6 percent to 6,300 mt, all compared to January-February 2012.

Specifically, in the first two months of this year, the largest Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant’s ferroalloy output increased by 20.1 percent year on year to 102,800 mt, including 89,200 mt of silicomanganese and 13,600 mt of ferromanganese.

Meanwhile, in January-February Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant’s ferroalloy output declined by 86.7 percent year on year to 4,300 mt, including 4,300 mt of silicomanganese, while ferromanganese, ferrosilicon and metallic manganese were not produced during the same period.

In addition, another major Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant saw its ferroalloy output fall in January-February 2013 by 79.9 percent year on year to 6,400 mt, including 6,300 mt of ferrosilicon and 100 mt of silicomanganese.
