According to data released by the National Chamber of the Iron and Steel (CANACERO), Mexico’s steel production totaled 4.5 million tons in the first quarter of this year, growing by 3.4% year on year.
In the first quarter of this year, the country’s imports of steel products totaled 2.04%, falling by 20% year on year. However, the exports rose by 17.6% year on year to 1.3 million tons. In the given period of time, Mexico’s apparent consumption of steel products totaled 5.5 million tons, decreasing by 6.6% year on year.
