Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) estimates that Vietnamese steel sales in 2014 will increase to 4.6 million tons, up by 2%~3% from 2013 and that about 300,000 tons remain in the stock.

It is expected Vietnam exports steel products total about 2.5 million tons with over US$2 billion by 2013.

VSA indicates the sluggish real estate market in Vietnam is the main point influencing slow growth on steel sales by 2.5% only in 2013. Vietnamese steel industry so far is looking for expanding its steel export to the US, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Cambodia in order to solve the problem of steel oversupply.
