The Sales of Ford Four-Wheel-Type Grew 72% in 3 Years

From 2009 to 2012, Ford's four-wheel drive vehicle sales grew 72%, while the US's auto market increased 53%.

More than 20% of the sales of new cars in the US auto market in 2012 used the four-wheel drive system. Among Ford's cars which can be equipped with four-wheel drive system in vehicle, 37% chose the system. Ford's intelligent four-wheel drive system initially used in maverick in 2013, and then expanded to the sharp boundary, Pathfinder, Flex, Fusion and Taurus models.

Ford said that the Northeast of US and Mid-Atlantic, when Ford’s customers choose small utility vehicle, four-wheel-drive system has become the primary consideration of conditions, more important than the index of reliability, performance and fuel economy.

In the eastern United States, southeast and central regions, the four-wheel-type sales reached a new high of 5 years in 2012, the northwest region in recent 6 years was also growing rapidly.
