Taiwan Imports of Small-Diameter Wire Rods Exceeded 38,000 Tons in April

Affected by decreased supply of China Steel Corp. (CSC)’s electric furnace (EF) Al-killed wire rods, Taiwan imports of small-diameter wire rods (with diameters less than 14mm) exceeded 38,000 tons in April.

According to statistics, Taiwan’s imports of small-diameter wire rods totaled 38,449 tons in April, jumping by 29.38% from 29,716 tons in March. Meanwhile, the import prices average at NT$19,547/ton in April, rising by NT$382/ton from a month ago. It’s learned that CSC reduced the supply of EF Al-killed wire rods to 20,000 tons per month since this year from the previous 35,000 tons per month.
