Carbon Steel Sales Volume Decreased by 3.55 Percent to 807,346 Metric Tons

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in April this year its carbon steel sales volume decreased by 3.55 percent to 807,346 metric tons, compared to March, accounting for 65 percent of domestic sales. In the first four months of the current year, the company sold 3.2 million mt of carbon steel, accounting for 64 percent of domestic sales.

In April, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 30.76 billion ($1.02 billion), down 2.35 percent month on month. In the first four months, the operating revenues of the company totaled NTD 123.2 billion ($4.07 billion). In April, the company registered earnings before tax of NTD 2.1 billion ($69.5 million), increasing by 1.65 percent compared to March.
