According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November last year Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports amounted to 97,073 metric tons, up 28 percent compared to the previous month and more than double compared to November 2011. October witnessed the fourth consecutive month of month-on-month increase in Turkey's hot rolled coil exports.
Meanwhile, in November, Turkey's hot rolled plate exports, which had generally been trending down on month-on-month basis since May of the same year, amounted to 7,680 mt, falling by 26 percent compared to October, while they fell by 15.1 percent year on year. In November, hot rolled sheet exports from Turkey totaled 8,501 mt, down 35.3 percent compared to the previous month and up 13.2 percent compared to the same month of 2011.
Turkey's hot rolled coil exports in the first 11 months of last year totaled 608,451 mt, decreasing by 56.5 percent, while its hot rolled plate exports rose 49.8 percent to 175,426 mt, both compared to the same period of 2011. On the other hand, Turkey's hot rolled sheet exports increased by 6.1 percent year on year in the first 11 months of the year, rising to 107,840 mt.
Turkish HRC exports to the European Union in November last year rose by 55.9 percent compared to the previous month, following an 80.2 percent month-on-month increase recorded in October and more than triple compared to the same month of 2011, amounting to 63,091 mt.
