The Carlyle Group Is to Take Over All Shares in Klenk

The US investment company The Carlyle Group is to take over all shares in Klenk. The takeover will be effected in the form of a share deal which will be handled by CSP III Klenk Ltd., a company which is headquartered in the Cayman Islands and which is a 100% subsidiary of Carlyle. The relevant contract of sale was signed on 22 Augustand includes the sawmill and further-processing business locations in Oberrot, Baruth and Wolfegg, the felling and logistics company TTW Waldpflege and the 40% holding of Klenk in the forestry-services company Wald Plus. In addition, Carlyle is taking over Klenk's shares in EnBW Klenk Holzenergie a joint venture with EnBW, and the biomass thermal power plants at the sites in Oberrot and Baruth. The sawmill line which has been in storage for Klenk in Urlau since 2009 is also included in the sold assets.
