Spain-based stainless steelmaker Acerinox posted a net loss of €18.33 million for 2012, slumping from a net profit of €73.73 million for 2011.
In 2012, Acerinox realized sales revenues of €4.55 billion, down by 2.5% year on year. Nevertheless, the company’s sales volumes rose by 9.7% year on year.
Meanwhile, the company’s production hit the highest level since 2007. Its steel output for the whole of 2012 reached 2.2 million tons, rising by 8.3% year on tear.
Among them, 1.4 million tons were cold rolled products, rising by 11.6% and 1.9 million tons were hot rolled products, increasing by 7.6%, both compared to the figures in a year ago.
