It’s reported that most of the major steelmakers in the US have announced to raise the prices of steel long products by US$25/short ton for April.
Nucor informed its customers that the company will raise the prices for rebar, merchant bars, structural products and wide flange beams by US$25/short ton from April 1st.
It’s known that Nucor hiked the raw material surcharge by US$35/short ton, based on a benchmark price of shredded auto scrap in the Midwest while the company cut the base prices by US$10/shor ton.
At the same time, Commercial Metals Co. has announced to increase its prices for rebar, merchant bars, structural products by US$
25/short ton, effective from April 1st.
In addition, Gerdau Long Steel North America have informed its customer to raise the prices for beams, piling, merchant bars and rebar by US$25/short ton, effective from April 1st.
