According to the statistics from United States Department of Commerce, the USA’s volume of goods trade was USD2069.15 billion from January to July in 2016, down 5.7% year-on-year (the same below). Exports fell by 6.4% to USD827.50 billion, and imports fell by 5.2% to USD1241.65 billion. The trade deficit fell by 2.6% to USD414.15 billion.
In July, the USA’s volume of goods trade fell by 6.2% to USD298.09 billion. Exports fell by 6.5% to USD116.15 billion and imports fell by 6.0% to USD181.94 billion. And the trade deficit fell by 5.2% to USD65.79 billion.
Since January to July, bilateral trade volume between the USA and China fell by 6.7% to USD312.11 billion. The USA’s exports to China fell by 7.6% to USD60.38 billion. It accounted for 7.3% of the USA’s overall export, down 0.1%. And the USA’s imports from China fell by 6.5% to USD251.73 billion. It accounted for 20.3% of the USA’s overall imports, down 0.3% over the previous year. The USA’s trade deficit with China fell by 6.3% to USD191.36 billion.
As its second largest trade partner, China was the third largest export market of the USA and its largest source of imports up to July in 2016.
