Korea’s H beam sale volumes dropped in 2012 due to sluggish global economy.
According to the Korea Iron & Steel Association (KOSA), Korea’s sales volumes of H beams totaled 3.206 million tons in 2012, down by 0.1% year on year.
Among them, around 1.28 million tons were sold to export market, rising by 3.2% and around 1.92 million tons were sold to domestic market, up by 2.3%, both compared to the figures in a year ago.
It’s known that the Korean H beam makers faced fierce price competition against the materials offered by the Chinese mill in the overseas market.
