Acero Arequipa Said Its Shipments in 2012 Rose by 17% From 2011

According to report, Peru’s steel long product maker Acero Arequipa said its shipments in 2012 reached 925,000 tons in 2012, rising by 17% from 2011.

Aceros Arequipa’s delivered 90% of total products in domestic market. The total shipments for rebar and wire rod were 740,000 tons, the most traded products.

Sales also rose by 5% from 2011 reached about US$835.5 million. And its output also rose by 18% year-on-year in 2012.

For the Peruvian market, according to the company, the country consumed 2.8 million tons of steel, which is also a 14.8% rise from 2011.
