Brazil's Steel Output Is Expected to Rise by 5.8% to 36.51 Million Tons This Year

Brazil’s steel output is expected to rise by 5.8% to 36.51 million tons this year, driven by recover y of the domestic economy, according to report of Brazil Steel Institute (IABr).

It’s forecasted that the sales in domestic markets would increase by 7.6% to 23.25 million tons this year. Meanwhile, the country’s steel exports are expected to rise by 8.8% to 8.94 million tons.

Besides, the report pointed out that Brazil faces difficulties to compete against other countries due to high taxes and high prices of the Brazilian real in foreign exchanges.
