It is reported that the Italian Acciaierie Bertoli Safau, a division of the large industrial holding Danieli company and new owner of the Sisak Steel Mill in Croatia, recently launched a trial production run in the Sisak Steel Mill and before investing some EUR 100 million it is necessary to resolve a series of problems, such as obtaining numerous permits and making a deal with the Croatian power company HEP about the steel mill's status as a large electricity consumer
After meeting between ABS officials and Sisal-Moslavina County Prefect head of the ABS management board Mr Andrea Landini said “Major investments will be made in the reconstruction of the steel mill next spring and we must be ready for that. This meeting left a positive impression on me. We established a constructive relationship and I believe we will jointly resolve problems in an attempt to achieve bigger and better production in the steel mill.”
ABS officials spoke about their plans for the Sisak steel mill which include the modernisation of the steel-casting foundry and other plants after which new jobs will be created.
