In 2012 Ukraine's Ferroalloy Production Decreased by 13.8 Percent

According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA), in 2012 Ukraine's ferroalloy production decreased by 13.8 percent compared to 2011 to 1.026 million mt.Accordingly, in 2012, Ukraine's silicomanganese output decreased by 13 percent to 734,100 mt, its ferromanganese production went down by 12.9 percent to 157,300 mt, its ferrosilicon output decreased by 20.9 percent to 119,400 mt, while its metallic manganese production increased by 4.3 percent to 14,700 mt, all compared to 2011.

Specifically, in 2012, the largest Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant’s ferroalloy output decreased by 14.6 percent year on year to 657,800 mt, including 554,800 mt of silicomanganese and 103,000 mt of ferromanganese.

Meanwhile, during 2012 Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant’s ferroalloy output declined by 5.3 percent year on year to 198,900 mt, including 129,900 mt of silicomanganese, 54,300 mt of ferromanganese and 14,700 mt of metallic manganese.

In addition, another major Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant saw its ferroalloy output fall in 2012 by 19 percent year on year to 168,800 mt, including 119,400 mt of ferrosilicon and 49,400 mt of silicomanganese.
