The Average Steel Price in China Decreased by 0.3 Percent Compared to The Previous Week

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (April 22-28) the average steel price in China decreased by 0.3 percent compared to the previous week.

In particular, in the given week prices of 80 mm x 43 mm x 5 mm channel steel, 3 mm hot rolled steel sheet, and 6.5 mm high-speed wire rod decreased by 0.4 percent, 0.4 percent and 0.3 percent, all week on week.

In the week ending April 28, average prices of minerals in China remained unchanged compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the average prices of copper ore and molybdenum ore declined by 2.7 percent and 0.6 percent, the average price of iron ore remained unchanged, while the average prices of zinc ore and tungsten ore increased by 1.5 percent and 1.2 percent, all compared to the previous week.

Meanwhile, in the given week, average prices of energy in China were down 1.9 percent week on week. The average prices of raw coal, crude oil and coke decreased by 0.2 percent, 1.4 percent and 2.2 percent respectively, all on week-on-week basis.
