According to statistics, Japan’s exports of stainless steel products totaled 1,176,513 tons in 2012, falling by 6.4% year on year.
In 2012, the country’s exports of stainless steel products to China fell by 22.5%; those to Korea decreased by 5.2% and those to Taiwan rose by 6.5%, all compared to the figures in a year earlier.
Meanwhile, Japan’s export revenues generated by stainless steel products amounted to US$4.95 billion. The average export prices were at US$4,213/ton, down by 2.9% year on year.
