Russia's Steel Production Declined in January 2013

The Russian Federal Bureau’s statistics data showed that in 2013 January the Russian metallurgical enterprises steel production fell 5.8% to 5.7 million tons; grew 1.4%, At the same time, the production of pig iron grew 0.1%, growth of 4.6%, reaching 4.3 million tons. Rolled products production decreased 2.8% year on year, grew 1% to 4.4 million tons. Steel pipe output grew 3.2% year on year, down 15.6%, to 744,000 tons.

It was reported that pig iron production in Russia in 2012 increased by 5.2%, reaching 50.5 million tons; steel production increased by 3.3% to 70.4 million tons; finished rolled products production increased by 4% to 61.8 million tons; steel pipe production down 3.3% year-on-year to 970 million tons.
