Turkey's Iron and Steel Imports Totaled USD 1.7 Billion Decreasing by 4% YOY

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Turkish Undersecretariat of Customs, in October this year Turkey's iron and steel imports totaled USD 1.7 billion decreasing by 4% YoY and up 5.6% compared to September this year. Iron and steel ranked third among the most imported products of the country in the given month.

Meanwhile, in October imports of articles of iron or steel which ranked 16th among the products with the highest import value rose by 2.2% compared to October 2011 and was down 1.6% MoM amounting to USD 200.6 million.

In the first 10 months of 2012, the country's iron and steel imports stood at USD 16.6 billion decreasing by 2.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2011 while its imports of articles of iron or steel amounted to USD 1.9 billion down by 11.3% YoY.
