Quotations Are Still Rising in The Italian Market

According to Assofermet, the Italian association of traders of iron, steel, non-ferrous metals, ferrous scrap, hardware and similar goods, in the month of November, prices of pig iron and other steelmaking raw materials recorded an uptrend in Italy. Contrary to recent downticks recorded in other countries such as the US and Turkey, quotations are still rising in the Italian market.

The association forecasts that, due to the tight availability of certain materials and due to the negative influence of seasonal factors on deliveries, pig iron import prices in Italy are set to increase further in December. As regards ferroalloy prices in Italy, Assofermet observed that the downtrend witnessed in the last few months has come to a halt.

Assofermet stated that in the month of November 81,000 metric tonnes of pig iron and 14,000 tonne of hot briquetted iron and direct reduced iron were imported via Port Marghera, Venice.
