According to the statistics provided by the Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers Association, in the first 11 months of this year Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 1.7 million tonnes increasing by 13.9% compared to the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled USD 1.6 billion up by 4.5% compared to January to November 2011.
According to CEBID, of the total steel pipe exports of Turkey in the period in question, 1.68 million tonnes consisted of welded pipes. Meanwhile, steel pipe accounted for 9.4% of Turkey's total steel exports in the given period.
In the first 11 months, Turkey's biggest destinations for its steel pipe exports were Iraq, the US and the UK. Meanwhile, significant increases in Turkey's steel pipe shipments to Algeria, Poland, Azerbaijan and Georgia were recorded in the January to November period of 2012.
In November this year, Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 203,000 metric tons, constituting a record monthly volume to date in the current year up 58.2% YoY and rising by 23% compared to October while the revenue from these exports totaled USD 180.8 million rising 36.6% compared to November 2011.
In October this year, Turkey's steel pipe exports had amounted to 165,000 tonnes with revenue of USD 148.8 million. CEBID noted that in November a recovery tendency was observed in Turkey's steel pipe exports to the EU.
