It's reported that the Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) released its financial report for 2012 and the fourth quarter. CSN posted a net income of BRL316 million for the fourth quarter, slumping by 61.3% year on year. At the same time, its net revenues rose by 10.3% year on year to BRL4.6 billion. In 2012, CSN registered a net loss of BRL481 million, slumping from a net income of BRL 3.7 billion in 2011. Besides, the net revenues in 2012 rose by 2% year on year to BRL16.9 billion, driven by higher sales of steel products. Meanwhile, CSN produced around 5 million tons of crude steel in 2012, up by 2% year on year.
