Rautaruukki Plans to Increase Its Market Presence in South America

According to the company executive said in Arminera mining congress, Finish steelmaker Rautaruukki plans to increase its market presence in South America, especially for its special steels, including high strength and wear-resistant sheet and plate. Rautaruukki’s annual capacity is 3 million tons and it will focus on high quality steel and special steels and selling by local distributors. Countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru have started selling products. It is expected that Ruataruukki will sell and process about 20,000 tons of special steel in South America, mainly to Brazil as company’s biggest market in the region.
