CSC Raises Its Export Prices for Steel Sheets for May-July Shipments

China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest carbon steelmaker in Taiwan announced to raise its export prices for steel sheets by7,000/ton averagely to Japan for May-July shipments.

In fact, CSC had increased its prices for hot rolled, cold rolled and pickled coil by 3,000~5,000/ton for February-April shipments and the company is now seeking to raise the prices by a total of 10,000~12,000/ton for February through July.

CSC stated that it adjusted its export prices to Japan by observing the movements of the Japanese integrated mills; thus, its prices should be close the prices of the Japanese mills.

Meanwhile, Japan imported 47,471 tons of hot rolled coils (HRC) from Taiwan in February, rising by 1.1% from a month ago and increasing by 11.8% year on year, according to data released by Japan Iron & Steel Federation.
