Turkey's Steel Exports Totaled $1.16 Billion in Value, Decreasing by 4.9 Percent

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM), in January this year Turkey's steel exports totaled $1.16 billion in value, decreasing by 4.9 percent year on year and down 7.8 percent as compared to December 2012. In the latest twelve months including January, the country's steel exports value was $15.5 billion, almost stable compared to the same period a year earlier.

In January this year, of Turkey's industrial sectors, the steel sector recorded the fourth highest export value, while the motor vehicle sector had the highest export value with $1.49 billion, decreasing by 5.7 percent compared to January 2012.
