Reportedly, Belarus-based Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) said that its crude steel output totaled 131,274 tons in October, slumping by 44.5% year on year. Meanwhile, BMZ’s production of finished steel products was at 135,080 tons, decreasing by 32.1%; that of steel pipes was at 12,532 tons, rising by 17%, both compared to the figures in the same month of 2012. In the first ten months of this year, BMZ’s output of crude steel was at 1.931 million tons, decreasing by 15.2%; that of finished steel products was at 1.829 million tons, down by 3.4% and that of steel pipes was at 110,505 tons, rising by 5%, all compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.
