According to data released by Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI), the US steel service center's inventories totaled 8.49 million short tons in March, only down slightly from 8.51 million short tons in a month ago but falling from 8.87 million short tons in the same month of a year ago. In March, the steel shipments totaled 3.43 million short tons, falling by 2% from a month ago and decreasing by 9.9% year on year.
