According to the data from Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association (SSC), China produced 11.41 million tons of crude stainless steel from January to September this year, rising about 9.4% or 981,100 tons from the same period last year.
Among the stainless products, 300 series stainless produced the most which reached about 5.69 million tons, a 2.8% rise from last year. 400 series stainless production was 2.32 million tons, up by 6.7% from the same period last year. And 200 series stainless output rose the by 25.1% year-on-year to 3.4 million tons.
China also imported about 610,000 tons of stainless steel, down by 19.2% year-on year. Stainless exports were also down by 14.6% to 1.5 million tons.
