According to statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported 25,407 tons of stainless steel flat products in September, rising by 3.6% from August while slumping by 32.5% year on year.
In September, the country’s import values generated by stainless steel flat products totaled US$64.30 million, increasing by 2.3% month on month while falling by 45.5% year on year.
In the three quarter of this year, the country’s imports of stainless steel flat products totaled 271,333 tons, up slightly by 1.6% year on year. The import revenues generated by stainless steel flat products totaled US$70.55 million, decreasing by 13.4% year on year.
In the given period of time, Taiwan was the largest exporter of stainless steel flat products to Turkey with 63,546 tons, up by 2.3%; South Korea was the second largest one with 36,189 tons, falling by 9.6%; Germany was the third largest one with 32,531 tons, increasing by 15.6%, all compared to that in the same period of 2011.
