On October 15, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (Oct. 7-13) the overall average finished steel price in China was unchanged week on week.
In the given week, average prices of 0.5 mm non-grain-oriented (NGO) silicon steel sheet and 80 x 43 x 5 mm channel steel increased by 0.3 percent and 0.1 percent week on week, respectively, while the price of 50 mm x 50 mm equal angle decreased by 0.3 percent week on week.
In the week ending October 13, average prices of minerals in China were up 0.4 percent compared to the previous week. In particular, the average prices of tin ore, iron ore and zinc ore were up 2.9 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.4 percent week on week, respectively. Meanwhile, the average prices of copper ore and lead ore were unchanged.
In the given week, average prices of energy in China were down 0.6 percent week on week. The average prices of crude oil and raw coal were down by 2.8 percent and 0.3 percent, while the average price of metallurgical coke was unchanged, all week on week.
