The US Steel Mills Shipments Fell by 9% From a Month Ago in February

According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US steel mills' shipments fell by 9% from a month ago in February. In February, the US steel mills' shipments of carbon, alloy and stainless totaled 7.44 million short tons, decreasing from 8.21 million short tons in January; those of sheets and strips totaled 4.12 million short tons, falling from 4.48 million tons in a month ago; those of hot rolled steel products were at around 1.69 million shorts tons, declining from 1.91 million short tons in the previous month. Besides, the US steel mills shipped 1.28 million short tons of cold rolled sheets and hot-dipped galvanized steel sheets and strip, decreasing by 5% month on month.
